The Catholic Parishes in Waterloo Announce a New

“Fundamental Issues Series

This series of adult faith formation opportunities is designed particularly for adults and young adults who may or may not be actively participating in a faith tradition but have questions about the fundamental issues upon which religious faith and religious practice are based.

The programs take place in a comfortable,
inter-active learning environment which encourages discussion and reflection.  Times and dates for programs are generally determined by the participants.

Why Believe?

This program is designed for anyone -- life-long believers and skeptics alike -- who has ever wondered if it makes sense to be a believer.  It will examine critical questions like:
   • what faith is ... and what faith is not
   • the relationship between faith and reason
   • the relationship between faith and science
   • the relationship between faith and superstition
   • the relationship between faith and the "new atheism"
   • the "stages" of faith in human development
   • the characteristics of a reasonable, mature adult faith.
