Visit the

During Ramadan
Over one billion Muslims
throughout the world celebrate the holy season of Ramadan each
year. This annual period of inner reflection, prayer,
study, works of charity and fasting is based on lunar cycles and
does not change in the Muslim calendar. In the Gregorian
calendar, which is based on solar cycles, the season changes by
about 11 days each year.
In 2011, Ramadan
in North America will begin at sunset on August 1 and continue
until sunset on August 29.
At the invitation of the Waterloo Islamic Center, we will
arrange for small
groups from the Waterloo parishes to visit the new Mosque and
Islamic Center in
Waterloo
on the following dates:
Friday, August 12, 2010
Friday, August 19, 2010
Noontime Prayer
at 12:30pm
(or)

Choose the day and time which works best for you.
Each group will be guided by a staff member from the Waterloo
parishes.
Dr. Mohammed Fahmy, director of education for the Waterloo
Islamic
Center, will meet visiting groups and answer questions.
