“Fundamental Issues” Series
This series of adult faith formation opportunities is designed particularly for adults and
young adults who may or may not be actively participating in a
faith tradition but have questions about the fundamental issues
upon which religious faith and religious practice are based.
The programs take place in a comfortable, inter-active
learning environment which encourages discussion and reflection.
Times and dates for programs are generally determined by the
participants.

Why Believe?
Many of us take faith for granted, but for a growing
number of people it is no longer obvious that religious faith
makes any difference in their everyday lives. This program is designed for
anyone -- life-long believers and
skeptics alike -- who has ever wondered if it makes sense to believe
or has struggled to explain why they believe. It will examine critical questions like:
•
what faith is
... and what faith is not;
•
the relationship between faith, reason
and science;
•
the relationship between faith,
superstition and the "new atheism;"
•
how faith grows
and matures in adults;
•
the characteristics of a reasonable, mature adult faith.
