‘Now is the Time to be People of Hope’

“Having recently celebrated Christmas, we are mindful that Christ brought
hope to a broken world. Our faith continues to bring hope to the hopeless.
I invite you all to engage in prayer for the victims and those providing them
immediate help. Now is the time for us to be people of hope, standing in
solidarity with the people of Haiti, reaching out in concern and compassion.

-- Most Rev. Jerome Hanus OSB, Archbishop of Dubuque

Prayer for Haiti
(Provided by Catholic Relief Services)

God of all creation, console us as we weep with our family in Haiti.
In this time of crisis, open our eyes to look beyond the disaster to see
Christ in our brothers and sisters in Haiti, as Christ sees us.
Be with all creation; strengthen us in solidarity with those living and
working in Haiti.
All creation returns to you in mourning and your grace guides our efforts
to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, comfort the grieving and stand
for justice.
With your mercy, sustain us at this time as we continue to work for
peace and justice.
Amen.
