 A. Initiation and Evangelization

1. Rites of Christian Initiation and Reception
a. The retreat for RCIA catechumens will be held on Palm Sunday, March 28, at
    St. Stephen Center.
b. The current Rite of Christian Reception concludes on March 4.  An information
    meeting for the spring RCRA process will be held March 23 at St. Edward.  The
    spring series will meet on Tuesday evenings at St. Ed's.
c. There are 8 people who are interested in joining the Rite of Christian
    Initiation next fall.  In the meantime, the DREs are recruiting sponsors for these
    individuals and we are planning to meet with them as a group in April, May and
    June.

2. Inactive and Alienated Catholics (Strategic Plan E.4.d)
a. The next Listening Session for inactive and alienated Catholics is scheduled for
    March 10 at Kimball Ridge.

3. Single Adults
a. About 25 people attended the singles' Super Bowl Party Feb. 7 at the Knights of
    Columbus.  The next Single Mingle is March 13 at Junie's Restaurant.

B. Adult Formation, Education and Spiritual Growth

1. Adult Formation/Education
a. 18 people attended the Winter at the Cellar session Jan. 27; 20 people attended
    the session on Feb. 3.
b. 30 people are enrolled in Fr. Jaeger's study of Catholic Sacraments
    which began Feb. 3.
c. The parishes and Wheaton Franciscan Health Care will co-host a Final Wishes
    Workshop March 11 at St. Edward's.

d. The Iowa Faith Formation Conference with Dr. Edward Hahnenberg will be held
    March 14-15 in Ames.

2. Spiritual Growth (Strategic Plan E.2.a, E.2.b)
a. There were 10 people at the Feb. 21 mini-retreat with Fr. Ardel Barta.  The next
    mini-retreat is April 11 with Connie May.

b. 40 people attended the first session of our Lenten Enrichment series Feb. 22.

c. Sacred Heart Parish Liturgy Committee will host a Lenten Taize Prayer Service
    March 3 in Sacred Heart Church.
d. The Busy World Lenten Retreat will be offered online the week of March 21-28.

e. "Stewardship of the Earth" bible study series will begin March 11 and meet for
    six weeks on Wednesday evenings at Sacred Heart.

f. "The Infrequent Catholic's Guide to Lent" will meet on Sunday, Feb. 28, at
   Sacred Heart.
g. "The Infrequent Catholic's Guide to Reconciliation" will meet on Sunday, March
   21, at Sacred Heart.

h. Local CEW weekends will be held March 5-7 for women and March 19-21 for
    men at Don Bosco High School in Gilbertville.

C. Young Adults (Strategic Plan E.3.e)

1. St. Pat's and the Waterloo parishes will sponsor an evening of live music for young adults (age 21 and older) Feb. 6 at The HuB in Cedar Falls.  Music will be provided by "Elev8."  The parishes will provide reduced admission tickets and door prizes. 

D. Social Concerns (Strategic Plan L.3)

1. Social Concerns and Social Justice
a. About 40 people participated in the Hunger Banquet sponsored by adult
    formation and Waterloo Catholic Youth Ministry Jan. 31 at Queen of Peace. 
b. The "Living with Less" workshop scheduled for Feb. 22 was cancelled due to the
    low number of registrations.
c. Brian Terrell of the Des Moines Catholic Worker community will be the
    presenter for the Social Justice Lenten Retreat March 6 at Sacred Heart.

d. Dr. Erick Camayd-Freixas will address the relationship between "Immigrant
    Rights and American Values" in a lecture March 9 at St. Stephen Student
    Center.

2. Interfaith Relations
a. The parishes and St. Stephen Student Center will co-host a lecture on Tibetan
    Buddhist culture and religion by Geshe Thupten Dorjee April 14 at St.
    Stephens. 

E. AFF Outreach, Administration and Communication (Strategic Plan L.1.c)
